This tool works for all public DISCOs, including LESCO, FESCO, GEPCO, PESCO, MEPCO, HESCO, QESCO, SEPCO, and IESCO. Electricity Unit Rates in Pakistan (NEPRA Domestic Tariff Slabs)
All government DISCOs in Pakistan, LESCO, FESCO, IESCO, GEPCO, PESCO, MEPCO, HESCO, SEPCO, and QESCO, follow the NEPRA-approved uniform tariff. Domestic electricity units are billed in slabs. Your monthly bill is calculated by distributing your consumed units across the slabs you fall into.
NEPRA Domestic Slabs:
Lifeline Consumers (Up to 100 Units)
These slabs apply only to lifeline customers meeting NEPRA's criteria.
| Monthly Units (kWh) | Rate (Rs per kWh) |
|---|---|
| 1-50 units | 3.95 |
| 51-100 units | 7.74 |
Protected Consumers (Up to 200 Units)
These slabs apply only to protected customers meeting NEPRA's criteria (if monthly consumption is within 200 units for past 6 months).
| Monthly Units (kWh) | Rate (Rs per kWh) |
|---|---|
| 1-100 units | 10.54 |
| 101-200 units | 13.01 |
Unprotected Domestic Consumers (Above 200 Units)
| Monthly Units (kWh) | Rate (Rs per kWh) |
|---|---|
| 1-100 units | 22.44 |
| 101-200 units | 28.91 |
| 201-300 units | 33.10 |
| 301-400 units | 37.99 |
| 401-500 units | 40.20 |
| 501-600 units | 41.62 |

How the Calculation Works?
Our calculator uses NEPRA-approved tariff slabs and standard billing components applied across DISCOs:
- Slab Rates
Depending on your consumer status (Unprotected, Protected, Lifeline), different per-unit rates apply to your electricity consumption. The calculator breaks down your total units into slabs (e.g., 1-100, 101-200, 201-300, etc.). Each slab has a specific per-unit rate set by NEPRA.
- Fixed Charges / Meter Rent (if applicable)
DISCOs apply a small monthly fixed charge for meter availability and maintenance. Because this varies slightly across regions, our calculator uses the most common fixed-charge structure while allowing updates as needed.
- FPA (Fuel Price Adjustment) & Quarterly Tariff Adjustments
The Fuel Price Adjustment and Quarterly Tariff Adjustments are variable charges that reflect changes in fuel costs used for electricity generation. They are adjusted monthly based on fuel price fluctuations. These can also be in negative values when fuel costs decrease.
- Government Taxes
The calculator applies:
- Sales Tax / GST: typically 18%
- Electricity Duty: provincial duty on energy charges
- TV License Fee: Rs 35 (if applicable)
- Other standard surcharges per NEPRA rules
